Belly dance classes, workshops, and other assorted mischief happening around the North Country.

Learn real belly dance. Meet some excellent people. Give yourself something to look forward to every week.

Dance and culture we take seriously. Ourselves, not so much.

Move with confidence. Dance with joy.

What’s Happening Now

Whether you want to learn, try something new, or just come have fun, there’s a place to start.

Hips & Giggles

Want to try belly dance without committing to a full class session? Start here. Hips & Giggles is a beginner-friendly Girls Night Out where you can learn a little, laugh a lot, and spend the evening doing something completely different.

Classes

Want to actually learn belly dance and keep going with it? Start here. You’ll learn real technique, build skills week by week, and become part of a community that takes the dancing seriously without taking itself too seriously.

The rules you think exist? They’re fake.

You do not need to be young, thin, flexible, coordinated, confident, or already comfortable in your body before you start belly dance.

You do not need to show your belly. You do not need to perform. You do not need to arrive knowing what you are doing.

You only need enough curiosity to try.

More Than Just a Dance Class

The Belly Dance Practice Studio is a community.

The Belly Dance Practice Studio is a community. Around here, people notice when somebody misses a week. They cheer when a movement finally snaps in after three weeks of making no damn sense, laugh through the parts that go sideways, and help each other figure things out. Before long, you’re not just taking a class with these people. You’re part of the whole crazy thing.

Meet Safira

I’m Safira, a former professional belly dancer and longtime personal trainer returning to teaching after several years away.

My classes are practical, welcoming, and designed for adults who may be nervous, rusty, or completely convinced they have no rhythm.

We start at the beginning, explain what we’re doing, and leave perfection at the door. Belly dance should feel accessible, not like one more place where you are expected to arrive already knowing everything.

A few moments from my earlier years of performing, teaching, and sharing the stage with students.

Stay in the loop

New classes, workshops, Hips & Giggles, new locations, and whatever else I decide to get into next.

Join the email list and I’ll make sure you hear about it before you accidentally find out three days later on Facebook.
