Terms of Service

Effective date: July 12, 2026

These Terms of Service govern your use of bellydancepracticestudio.com and your purchase or use of workshops, classes, events, programs, educational materials, and related services offered by Belly Dance Practice Studio.

Throughout these Terms, “Belly Dance Practice Studio,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Belly Dance Practice Studio. “You” and “your” refer to the website visitor, purchaser, participant, parent, guardian, or other person using our website or services.

By accessing the website, submitting a form, making a purchase, or registering for a service, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the website or purchase our services.

1. Our services

Belly Dance Practice Studio may offer:

  • In-person belly dance classes

  • Workshops and special events

  • Private or semi-private instruction

  • Online programs

  • Educational resources

  • Books, planners, cards, downloads, or other products

  • Email newsletters and informational content

  • Other dance, movement, fitness, or educational services

Specific details, prices, schedules, eligibility requirements, and participation expectations will be listed on the applicable sales or registration page.

We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue services when reasonably necessary.

2. Eligibility and age requirements

You must be legally able to enter into a binding agreement to make a purchase through the website.

Students age 15 and older may attend eligible classes or events without a participating parent, subject to any required parent or guardian permission.

Students age 12 through 14 may attend eligible activities only when a parent or guardian is also registered and participating, unless an event description states otherwise.

Online registration, payment, newsletter signup, and communication for anyone under age 13 must be completed by a parent or legal guardian.

A parent or guardian who registers a minor confirms that:

  • They are authorized to act for the minor

  • The information provided is accurate

  • They agree to these Terms on behalf of themselves and the minor

  • They will complete any required consent, release, or waiver documents

Individual events may have different or more restrictive age requirements. The event description controls when it conflicts with the general rules above.

3. Registration and purchases

Registration is confirmed only after:

  • Payment is successfully completed

  • Required registration information is submitted

  • Any applicable eligibility requirements are met

  • Any required waiver, consent, or release is completed

Adding an item to a cart does not reserve a space.

Because classes and events may have limited capacity, availability is not guaranteed until checkout is complete.

You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and checkout.

We may contact you to clarify incomplete, conflicting, or inaccurate registration information.

4. Prices and payments

Prices are listed in United States dollars unless otherwise stated.

You agree to pay the price and any applicable taxes or fees shown at checkout.

Payments are processed through Squarespace Payments or another authorized payment provider. Payment providers may impose their own terms and privacy practices.

We may correct obvious pricing, listing, or technical errors. If an error affects a completed purchase, we will contact you and provide an appropriate option, which may include paying the correct amount or receiving a refund.

5. Cancellations, transfers, credits, and refunds

Purchases are subject to our separate Cancellation & Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.

That policy explains:

  • Customer cancellation deadlines

  • Eligibility for credits

  • Registration transfers

  • No-show rules

  • Missed-class policies

  • Weather-related decisions

  • Event cancellations or rescheduling by Belly Dance Practice Studio

  • Refund processing

Please review that policy before purchasing.

6. Schedule and location changes

Dates, times, instructors, formats, and locations may occasionally change because of weather, venue availability, instructor illness, emergencies, safety concerns, or circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

When a meaningful change occurs, we will make reasonable efforts to contact registered participants using the email address or phone number provided during registration.

You are responsible for providing current contact information and reviewing event communications before attending.

7. Participant responsibilities

Participants agree to:

  • Follow reasonable instructor and venue directions

  • Participate within their own abilities

  • Communicate relevant limitations or concerns when appropriate

  • Use equipment and facilities responsibly

  • Wear clothing and footwear suitable for the activity

  • Avoid behavior that endangers, harasses, intimidates, or disrupts others

  • Respect other participants’ privacy and personal boundaries

  • Arrive in time to check in and participate safely

  • Refrain from attending while impaired by alcohol, illegal drugs, or another substance that makes participation unsafe

Participation may be paused or ended when an instructor reasonably believes continued participation would be unsafe or seriously disruptive.

Removal for unsafe, discriminatory, threatening, harassing, or significantly disruptive behavior does not create an automatic right to a refund.

8. Respectful and inclusive environment

Belly Dance Practice Studio is committed to maintaining a respectful and welcoming environment.

Discrimination, harassment, intimidation, threats, unwanted sexual behavior, deliberate misgendering, or hostility based on a person’s race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, body size, or other protected or personal characteristic will not be tolerated.

Trans women are women. Nonbinary students who feel comfortable in a women-centered space are welcome at women-centered events unless a particular event description states otherwise.

Respectful students of all genders are welcome in regular classes, subject to the eligibility rules for the particular class or event.

We may deny or end participation when necessary to protect participants, instructors, the venue, or the learning environment.

9. Closed classes and participant privacy

Classes and workshops are generally closed to observers unless advance permission is provided.

This policy helps protect participant privacy and creates a more comfortable learning environment.

Parents or guardians who are required to attend with a younger student must generally be registered and participating rather than observing from the sidelines.

Do not photograph, film, livestream, or record another participant without that person’s clear permission and any required permission from Belly Dance Practice Studio.

10. Photography and video

Participation does not automatically grant Belly Dance Practice Studio permission to use your identifiable image for marketing.

When photographs or video may be captured for promotional use, we will request appropriate consent.

You may decline promotional photography or video without losing your right to participate, unless being recorded is an essential and clearly disclosed part of a particular service.

You may take personal photographs only when permitted and when doing so does not interfere with instruction or violate another participant’s privacy.

11. Health, movement, and physical activity

Dance, exercise, and movement activities involve physical effort and may involve risks such as soreness, fatigue, loss of balance, falls, strains, or other injury.

You are responsible for deciding whether participation is appropriate for you.

Please consult an appropriate healthcare professional before participating when you have a medical condition, injury, pregnancy, recent surgery, significant limitation, or concern about your ability to participate safely.

Tell the instructor about relevant limitations before the activity begins so reasonable options may be discussed.

Belly Dance Practice Studio does not provide medical diagnosis, medical treatment, physical therapy, mental-health treatment, or individualized medical advice.

Information on the website or provided during a class is educational and is not a substitute for professional medical care.

12. Waivers and additional agreements

Certain classes, events, programs, or services may require a separate:

  • Assumption-of-risk agreement

  • Liability waiver

  • Emergency contact form

  • Parent or guardian consent

  • Photo or video release

  • Online-program agreement

  • Venue-specific form

You must complete required forms before participating.

These Terms do not replace any separate waiver or agreement. If a separate signed agreement conflicts with these Terms concerning the same subject, the more specific agreement will generally control to the extent permitted by law.

13. Accessibility and accommodations

We welcome questions about accessibility and reasonable participation needs.

Please contact us before registering when possible, or provide relevant information through the registration form.

We will make reasonable efforts to determine whether an activity can be adapted appropriately. However, not every activity, venue, or format can accommodate every need.

We may recommend a different service or decline participation when we reasonably believe an activity cannot be adapted safely or appropriately within the available setting and resources.

14. Personal belongings

You are responsible for clothing, phones, jewelry, bags, valuables, and other personal property brought to a venue.

Belly Dance Practice Studio is not responsible for items that are lost, stolen, forgotten, or damaged, except to the extent responsibility cannot legally be excluded.

15. Website use

You may use the website for lawful personal and business-related purposes connected to learning about or purchasing our services.

You may not:

  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the website or connected systems

  • Interfere with website security or operation

  • Submit false, fraudulent, or misleading information

  • Use another person’s identity or payment information without authorization

  • Copy or scrape substantial website content

  • Upload or transmit malicious code

  • Use the website to harass, threaten, or harm another person

  • Use website content in a way that infringes intellectual-property or privacy rights

  • Resell registrations or materials for profit without written permission

We may restrict access when we reasonably believe the website or purchasing system is being misused.

16. Intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, website content and materials created by Belly Dance Practice Studio—including text, graphics, class structures, handouts, videos, photographs, program materials, downloads, branding, and educational resources—are owned by or licensed to Belly Dance Practice Studio.

Purchasing a class, event, download, or program gives you a limited, personal, nonexclusive, nontransferable right to use the material for its intended purpose.

You may not, without written permission:

  • Reproduce or distribute materials

  • Upload purchased materials to a shared drive or public platform

  • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit materials

  • Record and distribute instruction

  • Present our materials as your own

  • Use substantial portions to create a competing product or program

  • Remove copyright, trademark, or ownership notices

You may share links to publicly available website pages.

17. User submissions and communications

When you submit a message, review, survey response, testimonial, suggestion, or other content, you confirm that:

  • The submission is accurate to the best of your knowledge

  • You have the right to submit it

  • It does not violate another person’s privacy or intellectual-property rights

  • It is not unlawful, threatening, defamatory, or intentionally misleading

We will not publicly use an identifiable testimonial, photograph, or private story for marketing without appropriate permission.

General feedback and suggestions may be used to improve our services without compensation, provided we do not publicly identify you without permission.

18. Email and service communications

By registering or purchasing, you agree to receive necessary service-related communications, such as:

  • Order confirmations

  • Event reminders

  • Location or parking information

  • Schedule changes

  • Safety notices

  • Cancellation or refund updates

  • Responses to your questions

These transactional messages are separate from marketing emails.

Marketing emails are sent only when you opt in, and you may unsubscribe using the link provided in those messages.

19. Third-party services and links

The website may use or link to third-party services such as:

  • Squarespace

  • Squarespace Payments

  • Kit

  • Google services

  • Instagram

  • Facebook

  • Maps, venues, or other external websites

We do not control third-party websites, services, security practices, availability, content, or privacy policies.

A link does not necessarily mean we endorse every statement, product, or service offered by that third party.

Your use of a third-party service may be governed by that provider’s own terms.

20. Website availability and accuracy

We make reasonable efforts to keep website information accurate and available.

However, we do not guarantee that:

  • The website will operate without interruption

  • Every feature will always be available

  • Information will always be free from typographical or technical errors

  • Third-party services will function without interruption

  • Every service listed will remain available

We may correct errors and update content without prior notice.

21. Educational results and no guarantees

Individual results vary.

We do not guarantee that participation will produce a particular result involving:

  • Dance ability

  • Coordination

  • Flexibility

  • Confidence

  • Strength

  • Fitness

  • Weight loss

  • Body composition

  • Performance opportunities

  • Business or financial results

  • Health outcomes

Progress depends on many factors, including attendance, practice, health, effort, prior experience, and individual circumstances.

Testimonials or examples describe individual experiences and do not guarantee the same outcome for everyone.

22. Disclaimer of warranties

To the extent permitted by law, the website, content, and services are provided on an “as available” basis.

We do not make warranties beyond those expressly stated in writing.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, rights, or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.

23. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Belly Dance Practice Studio will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the website or services.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability when doing so would be prohibited by law, including liability that cannot legally be waived.

Any separate participant waiver or agreement may contain additional provisions concerning risks and liability.

24. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to be responsible for losses, claims, or expenses arising from:

  • Your unlawful use of the website

  • Your intentional violation of these Terms

  • Fraudulent information or unauthorized payment activity

  • Your infringement of another person’s rights

  • Damage you intentionally cause to a venue, equipment, or another person’s property

This section does not require you to indemnify Belly Dance Practice Studio for its own unlawful conduct or liability that cannot legally be shifted.

25. Refusal or termination of service

We may refuse, suspend, or terminate access to a service when reasonably necessary because of:

  • Nonpayment

  • Fraud or chargeback abuse

  • Safety concerns

  • Repeated disruption

  • Harassment or discrimination

  • Violation of participant boundaries

  • Misuse of materials

  • Violation of these Terms

  • Conduct that threatens participants, instructors, the venue, or the business

Any refund or credit will be determined under the Cancellation & Refund Policy and applicable law.

26. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Any legal proceeding that is not required by law to be brought elsewhere will be brought in an appropriate state or federal court serving St. Lawrence County, New York.

Nothing in this section prevents either party from pursuing a remedy or filing a complaint through an agency or forum available under applicable law.

27. Severability

If a provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

The invalid provision will be interpreted or limited as closely as legally possible to its intended purpose.

28. No waiver

If we do not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, that does not waive our right to enforce it later.

29. Entire agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Cancellation & Refund Policy, applicable sales-page terms, and any separately signed waiver or agreement, form the agreement relating to your use of the website and purchased services.

30. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the website, offerings, or legal requirements change.

The revised version will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.

Material changes will apply prospectively unless otherwise required by law.

The Terms in effect at the time of purchase will generally govern that purchase, together with any more specific agreement accepted for that service.
